Notorious RBG is back, this time as a handmade bookmark or paper doll using canvas paper and oil paint.

From Sentimental Favorite

Oyez, oyez . . . the honorable Ruth Bader Ginsburg makes a feisty paper doll bookmark, with her trademark jabot, her classic hairdo, glasses and crown. She is hand-painted, printed and cut out and measures 11 x 2.75 inches.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Joan Ruth Bader became Ruth in grade school when there were too many Joans in her class, and her mother suggested it to the teacher. She was already a wife and mother when she entered Harvard Law School, and she and her husband famously shared earning and domestic responsibilities throughout their careers. She became a supreme court justice in 1993, where she’s made a name for herself as defender of women’s and civil rights.

Since 2015, Ginsburg has been portrayed by Kate McKinnon on Saturday Night Live. The segments typically feature McKinnon-as-Ginsburg lobbing insults she calls “Ginsburns” and doing a celebratory dance. Ginsburg’s pop culture appeal has inspired t-shirts, nail art, Halloween costumes, a bobblehead doll, tattoos, and a best-selling 2015 book comparing her to rapper Notorious Big, called Notorious RBG: the Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

It’s only fitting that we have a Notorious RBG bookmark, as well, to restore order in your book.
