There are some old dolls I truly enjoy including these three beauties. They are old. They are large. They are vintage child-size store mannequins each exhibiting the passage of time in their patina.
Used for displaying children’s clothing orginally, I have clothed the taller girls in vintage white textiles, cotton dresses with lace. Pure vintage charm.
Evidence of a life, of days, gone by.
The tallest girl on the left is armless, just as I found her, and stay that way she will. I am quite happy to have these precious girls as they are, as they came to me.
I enjoy letting beautiful old items like these have a prominent place in our decor.
Beautiful little girl with cracked and crazed patina. No, I’m not a restorer nor am I interested in having them restored at a ‘Mannequin or Doll’s Hospital’.
Indeed, breakable and prone to being knocked over, I treat them with the utmost care and guard them in display. They would fall down & break if not supported properly or left in the way to be knocked over.
Moveable blue eyes.
