Part of my small collection of old finds, mainly blue tin canisters.

I’m drawn to old blue paint surfaces on early items whether furniture, tins, boxes and so forth. In fact the colour blue is a feature in and around our home whether as a paint surface or not.

The other colour I’m drawn to, aside from old white and cream, is old red.

This little vignette is in the kitchen on the old meat safe, a cupboard well used and well-worn with a gorgeous attic finish, dry and crazed, and one I like to use for my changing displays.

In case you’re wondering, the wooden Uncle Sam doll is simply a nod to my past life in the USA.
